Nicola graduated cum laude from the Dental School of Palermo University in Italy in 2001, following which he entered the private practice in Palermo. In 2003 he was awarded an EU scholarship and entered a clinical attachment at the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery of Tampere University Hospital in Finland. During this, he trained extensively in field of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
After completion of his attachment, Nicola practiced in UK for several years before pursuing postgraduate training in the field of Prosthodontics, the branch of dentistry focusing on restoring or replacing damaged or missing teeth. In 2007 he was accepted into the world renowned New York University College of Dentistry, where he was trained in Prosthodontics and Dental Implantology. Nicola excelled during his training and he was then appointed as Clinical Fellow in 2008 at the NYU.
Nicola returned to UK in 2009 and subsequently joined the prestigious UCL Eastman Dental Institute as an academician. He currently holds the position as a Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow, teaching postgraduates in the Master of Science and Master of Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics. He also actively participates in dental research, and has published articles in international dental journals.
He now divides his time between his private practice and teaching at the Eastman.
